Calcium Sulfide

Calcium Sulfide powder is available as a 99.9 pure (trace metals basis) powder in large batch quantities. Calcium Sulfide can be manufacturered as a phosphor—typically doped (activated) with a rare earth element such as Terbium, Cerium, or Europium. Europium doped Calcium Sulfide is available upon request as a red phosphor for LED applications.  Lorad has developed a proprietary method for synthesizing maximum efficiency Calcium Sulfide phosphors with a particle size less than 5 microns. These phosphors are more efficient than mechanically milled and re-activated phosphors and the process to manufacture them is more efficient and cost-effective than particle fractionation methods.
