  • EC No: 236-610-0

Gallium Chloride (GaCl3) is a white powder metal halide that is soluble in almost all solvents, include alkanes. This material may be used as a catalyst for a variety of organic bond formation reactions for gallium derivative compounds. Gallium Chloride along with Di-methyl Zinc may serve as a precursor material for Tri-methyl Gallium, which is used in metal organic chemical vapor deposition processes for semiconductors and LEDs. Gallium Chloride may also act as a precursor material for Lithium Tetrachlorogallate (LiGaCl4), an electrolyte salt, which is used in batteries that have a Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery chemistry.
