Zinc Sulfide:Silver

Silver doped Zinc Sulfide is available as a 99.9 pure (metals basis) white fluorescent powder in large batch quantities. Because of Silver doped Zinc Sulfide's high scintillation effiency, a thin uniform layer of the material on one side of an inert glass or plastic operates as a neutron detector with a high sensitivity to alpha particles and a low sensitivity to beta particles and gamma rays.
