About Rhodium
Rhodium is a platinum group metal with atomic number 45 that commonly forms compounds in the +3 oxidation state. It is used in automotive catalysts to reduce nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases. Rhodium is also used in reflective coatings, electrical contacts and platinum based thermocouple alloys, where corrosion resistance and performance at elevated temperatures are valuable.
